So back in May 2015, my nan was diagnosed with bowel cancer which was treatable, she started having chemotheorpay at the local hospital, after that, i was then having to take her down to southampton hospital to then do the radiotherapy. The whole treatment process had made her so weak, that she was struggling to walk in and around the hospital, and to and from the car. She had been omitted twice for an overnight stay because she became ill whilst awaiting treatment for radiotherapy. We had finished the final radiotherapy treatment and then we awaited the results of the CT scan to see if the lump had shrunk enough to operate on, Unfortunatley it hadnt shrunk enough and she didnt want to go through the treatment because there wasnt enough strength in her to go through it all again. So we continue our lifes like normal, Until when my mum and aunt had gone over my nans place.
They needed to change the stoma bag, so they helped my nan out of bed because she couldnt walk that far, Upon doing that my nan had collapsed and fell like a feather. (Bearing in mind, she had lost alot of wait through out the cancer treatment.)
She was admitted to Hospital on the 15th feb 2016 with several infections and was kept in for over 8 weeks, but on good friday we found something out something we werent expecting. This is when we found out that she had been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and we were told 2 to 4 months. From the radiotherpay treatment, she hadnt been eating anything so she was starving herself.
Anyway, she was finally discharged from hospital but because she coulndt get the care package she needed, she had to go into a car home, which was making her feel like she was at home, The sad thing was, she was bed written. She had no strength to stand on her own legs. Everything was fine until last week when she started turning down drinks, she started to become weak again and she had pretty much used all of reserves up that was left on her body, she was pretty much skin and bones and then wednesday 17th august 2016 we told we only had 2 or 3 days left, but she became worse overnight and was her pulse was really faint the next day, and unforutnately, the inevitable had happened.
