This product is now released and can be discussed at Other - [Official DLC] OMSI London

* Updated 9th December 2017.*
In order to ensure the London WIP thread is solely focused on the Work in Progress developments of London. It's been decided that it will be best to create a new thread for any questions that you may have regarding the features to be included in the add-on.

Prior to asking your questions, please ensure that this has not already been showcased in the WIP topic. Please also ensure that you READ this thread before commenting

Please Note: This thread is not the place to ask for the add-on's release date as I will disclose that once it's time to make it publicly known.

FAQ:
What buses are included in the DLC package?
- B5LH/Gemini 3
  • Citybus 200
  • Citybus 400
  • New Routemaster

What routes are included in the DLC package? (updated)

Do the buses come with an onboard iBus system?
Yes, it's currently being re-scripted to allow it to have a few more functions. These functions will be disclosed at a later date as it's not our top priority.

Can I become a beta tester for one of the vehicles/map?
No, we are not looking for any beta testers. We appreciate many of you are excited, but we also do expect many of you to respect our decision. All testers were selected by myself and my development team. This was done on a basis of people who are in the community who we can already trust, and not done on the basis of requests.

How much will add-on London cost?
Add-On London is currently expected to be priced at £24.99/27.95 Euros for the download version dependent on where you live, and £28-£30 for the boxed version depending on which site you purchase the add-on from.

Are there any plans for future vehicles post-London release?
Yes, there are plans for a number of vehicles which will be confirmed once development has started on those. The only confirmed vehicle is the Enviro400City, as discussed above.

Will the buses use the same rollband system as the current freeware London B9TL?
Road-hog123 has spent excessive time working on a brand new rollband script to replicate the Mckenna Brother's Powerblinds unit. All buses included in the add-on will feature its own unique powerblind set and does not replicate the example seen in the Volvo B9TL by AD156

Can anyone tell me what is the current operation of NRM regarding the rear door? I know it was designed to allow driving with the rear door open and two-men operation, but I think I read that this has ended recently. I wonder if the NRM ingame in the current state will allow operation with the rear door open? Even if it is no longer used like that irl, it is something that is so iconic for London buses I think the addon should not miss it.

Oh and btw Rhys, I randomly opened a FAQ in the London announcements thread and it still says the release date is November 2016, so... If you are sending people to read FAQ and not ask questions in this thread, it would be great to have the FAQ at least updated.

In reality, all NRMs now operate with the rear platform closed, with opo (one person operation). In other words, the rear doors open only at bus stops, just like other doors.

The NRM in the addon is built to a Mk2 spec which has a closed rear platform at all times, with a plug slide door. None of the NRM Bus Routes in the add-on operated with a conductor/open platform. So this will not be implemented.

Also, if you hadn’t noticed the FAQ was updated on the first page of this thread... it’s been updated several times... I’d suggest taking a look at the first page of this thread, I’ve not sent people to read a document in a very long while...

Just wondering, and I’m sorry if this has been asked before, you said it will have a ‘plug slide door’, what does this mean? Will the NRM in the add on have the back door that bends inwards, on the type that goes outwards and slides along?

Asking how it's coming along is always good as it shows intention for people for your product. A good market researcher would know this. I see this countless with other products and people like it, it's good for business, Id be worried if people didn't enquire about your work.

So asking for release dates is wrong but asking how it's coming along is general interest, After all it's been in the making for a very long time and to have people still interested is a good thing!

@LT586 We request everyone refrains from questions such as "When will this be released?", "Do you need beta testers?", "Any updates?" because whilst it may show interest, those questions just clog threads because developers will only post updates when they have something they are ready to show/discuss, they can also make developers feel pressured or pestered which pushes them away. Rhys has posted updates recently so I don't see any need to ask and as this is a 61 page discussion with recent activity I think user interest has been clearly established.

Oh-one-one-eight, nine-nine-nine, eight-eight-one-nine-nine, nine-one-one-nine, seven-two-fiiiiive....three.

I've never seen an admin so immediately full of yes. More on topic; there's a point to be had. Interest can be background discussion without directly asking for information. That's the entire point of this topic. We're here, we're interested, it's known. Personally, I hope all the time that needs to be taken is. Everything we've seen so far is astounding and I'm hoping we'll see that level of detail throughout. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a Borismaster, but I'm content to watch from afar as long as is necessary.

Loving the look of the drivers card for run!
