Use this as a place to ask questions on map making. Please note that this doesn't include anything such as making repaints, objects, splines, etc - only things that happen inside the OMSI Editor.

Suggested topics include:
  • TSRGD compliance - how and where to use the correct road markings/signage
  • Design - how you can make your scene look nicer
  • How to use the editor in the first instance
  • etc

Find a small town on Google Maps, ideally something with not many hills, then just literally copy everything you see as best you can. It's a lot easier to copy from street view than it is to make something up from imagination.

Just have a look around here. There's not really anything in the way of a good prefabricated bus station so you'd have to make it yourself. If you get Cotterell and/or BotW, there'd be a bunch of objects and splines in those. For buildings, Whistlehead and BTV have an adequate selection (I think Whistlehead's only come packaged with BotW or Farthington).

O3D splines pack is also useful for surfaces.

Well you could simply use a larger spline - or as Omsiese points out, use a surface spline such as those from O3D then put the pavements on yourself - although you'll need to path it. If you can't find a spline that works, it's pretty easy to make one yourself.
