@whistlehead That's not a trident that's a not-yet-enviro400

This, my friend is a Trident:

Ahhh, see I like them in both C-series and ISCe flavour. It's the axle whine that does it for me. That one you've got there is one bought specifically for my local route at the turn of the century, the X70-JVVs. Alexander couldn't meet the demand for new bodies, so they bought from Plaxton instead.

Edit: And here's the best-sounding fuel cell bus I've heard, courtesy of a conventional ZF 6-speed gearbox and AV-132 rear axle (same axle as the Tridents, I believe):

Fuel cell buses tend to sound pretty awesome anyway, in a Thunderbirds sort of way

Nah, it seems to still be a voith according to the description.

Odd. It's got yellow handrails, so probably not bought new by SC.

Meanwhile, I was looking at Stagecoach E400MMCs, and the liveries which they've been appliying have been hideous so far. I decided to photoshop a different version on to see how it would look, but I got carried away and designed a whole new livery...

I didn't bother to tidy up the 'shopping very well, but I think you can see the idea I'm going for :) I'm very pleased with how the logo merges into the blue stripe, and how it's still regognisably Stagecoach-y.

Yeah, Stagecoach Manchester have got a fair few odd buses. That particular bus was new to Dennis's Dukinfield and was sold along with the business in 2005

I remember when we used to have her here in Bedford. She was then deroofed at a railway bridge in Kempston and now serves as an open topper up north.

The X70-JVV batch have got just about everywhere :P They were bought new for my local route in 2000, as I'm sure I've said before...

Yep. I remember going on theses X--- JVV's when they operated on the river festival services in Bedford (including 702), they were fun to ride on. Now it's all done by dirty Enviro's

I hadn't realised how clever the wheelchair lift in a Levante really is. Just take a look at 1:00 onwards in this video:

Now that is some seriously impressive packaging. I hadn't even realised it had a proper wheelchair lift, when it's stowed there is just no sign of it.

I don't understand wheelchair lifts on coaches. Surely it's easier, cheaper, safer and more reliable for NX to put wheelchair passengers on trains or taxis? It's just a shame that they're too scared to use deckers anymore as they're perfect for wheelchairs - just a flip-out ramp like a regular bus and you just unbolt a few seats to make room.

Liking the forward sliding widows on it. Front end looks like it's been made using the far-too-square OMSI Lion's 1DTF as a guide :P

Haha
Haven't got much details on it as its yet to enter service. All I know is that the make is "Golden Dragon"  :P

Whose logo is apparently the Citroen badge in a circle :P

A lot of Chinese manufacturers are becoming increasingly credible - like what's happened to the Korean car makers - but some are still just laughable, at least when it comes to industrial design.

We've got quite a few Chinese buses here, and indeed they're not that bad, even if the quality of the buses are not on the level of the European ones. Most of them have modern facilities like USB ports and wifi as well.

Yeah that's true  xD

I've just visited their website, and from the looks of it most, if not all, of their products are rip-offs. For example, the vans and minibuses are all copied from Toyota and Nissan. http://www.goldendragonbus.net/category/mini-bus-26van.html

Even the brands that are becoming credible are worth avoiding. I highly doubt I'd buy a Chinese vehicle anytime soon, they fold in half in crashes and things go wrong on them constantly. They try to make themselves appeal by making their vehicles cheaper, the way they do this is often to reduce the structure of the vehicle and to use cheaper materials.
