I can't get the map to work, every time I pick a bus it'll say where to spawn it and nothing will come up, I then cannot close down OMSI and it crashes my computer please help
oh and also can someone link me to the btv houses? i searched on google and it said that the page couldn't be found when i clicked on the link
When you run Map Tools, and it gives you missing assets, it is giving you addresses. These are addresses which OMSI is attempting to read from. It doesn't solve the problem at root, but you could cheat and put the files in the location OMSI is attempting to access. As to whether the filenames are different, I don't know.
That usually only happens when map editing. Have you been doing this? If not, are you trying to 'Load Last Situation' when you start OMSI? You should try a completely fresh start with no bus.

Today I’m going to talk a little about BotW Legacy Edition, as we’ve not been talking to the community much in the last week or so – and because the same questions keep popping up from time to time.
BotW (Buses of the Westcountry) Legacy Edition is the next iteration of BotW 1 – the current version being BotW 1 v2.7.1. The name ‘Legacy Edition’ is simply to make things easier for people, rather than being confused by version numbers.
There have been a few changes with the project plan recently – Legacy Edition was being developed alongside the new BotW 2, however we have decided to change that for various reasons. BotW 2 is still an active project, however, the map has been completely removed and will be redeveloped from scratch. The reasons for this are:
It is being built off a map first started back in 2012 in OMSI 1 days. The map structure is inefficient, and is built on a dated overall plan when I was a novice, and as such has inherent flaws which require a total rebuild to address.
BotW was originally a fictional map – when we merge the map with Cotterell, there will be a continuity problem as that is a real map. BotW, therefore, needs to be real, too.
Overall satisfaction of the quality of the map.
Key features of BotW 2 which have so far been developed (the Park & Ride, for instance), have been carried over to BotW 1 Legacy Edition, so highly-anticipated features will not be lost.
So what does this mean for Legacy Edition? The simple answer is: not much. As mentioned, there will be features brought in from BotW 2, which means that certain areas have been lost. However, these were unloved areas in the first place (such as the T junction between Paignton Zoo and the depot, now a roundabout). It means that BotW 1 Legacy Edition will be updated some time into the future, which goes against what I’d previously said about no further development. However, further development will be limited.
Talking of altered plans, we’ve decided not to follow too strictly the existing structure of the map. Legacy Edition had always been just a refresh, however, with the importing of tiles from BotW 2, this is no longer the case. The map has been torn up and rebuilt in sections, with any section I’m not 100% happy with facing a total rebuild. Many of you still prefer the old road layout of BotW 1, however, I’m sure most you would prefer something that is higher in quality - rather than something sympathetic to the original.
Future Plans for BotW 1 Legacy Edition
Many people have been asking what routes will be included in Legacy Edition. The lack of multiple routes has often come up as a ‘complaint’ about BotW and Cotterell alike, hence why we’ve decided to continue development for a little longer. In order to keep release times sooner rather than later, we’re dividing route development into a series of updates, which are as follows:
35: Totnes – Paignton
This is the route we already know, however the scenery has changed vastly. A new village (Blagdon) has been installed, and Berry Pomeroy has been completely changed (and now sits on the other side of the A385). The tone of the route has also been changed to make it feel more like a commuter route connecting a small town through an extra urban area.
Park & Ride 1: Paignton Bus Station – PR Site via Totnes Road
Many of you would already have seen this route. It follows the 35 on main roads to the Park & Ride, and runs both on and off peak.
35A: Totnes – Paignton Local service
Follows loosely the existing 35, except takes more local routes, and takes in Paignton Zoo, which the 35 misses. Doesn’t run off peak.
X35: Totnes – Paignton Express
Designed for the Caetano Levante, takes a somewhat faster route between the two towns, using a new road to be built, featuring a dual carriageway and wide A roads.
Park & Ride 2: Paignton Bus Station to PR Site via seafront
Designed for visitors, this will head out of the bus station and run along the seafront and through residential areas to the zoo, where it heads out to the PR site.
525: Blagdon to Trago Mills
A very rural service intended for small buses such as a Solo, takes the back roads out of Blagdon, through Berry Pomeroy, and on to Totnes along a new winding riverside road. Passes through Totnes and runs on to an out-of-town shopping centre next to the A38 dual carriageway.
#: Paignton Local
Undecided route number, which will travel through an undecided route. The theme of the route will be bus station, through council estates up to the hospital (adjacent to the Park & Ride)
Each update will feature an upgrade to the assets. For example, the first update will featured upgraded ‘iomexLH’ splines (which are now under UKDT branding), the second update will feature refreshed ‘iomexLH’ crossings, and the third will include originals of both.
Many of you have been asking which buses will serve these routes. It is something hard to answer, given the timescale of development. For now, we’re focusing on the C400R, with the Levante for fast routes (and any potential school runs which we may throw in).
This is our most frequently asked question. While it is a bit of a faux pas to be asking this on the Fellowsfilm community, I’m happy to say that for the first update, we have a target date in mind. To avoid disappointment, this is something we will not be disclosing in the event of problems, or personal issues slowing down development. The target date for the first update for Legacy Edition is very soon, though.
We have no plans whatsoever for the timescale of subsequent updates.
We operate only on an invite-only basis. UKDT hand-picks community members, but we mainly use ourselves for testing. We have already selected testers for Legacy Edition, and indeed, they are already in receipt of development updates and are giving their opinions.
It is worth noting that like with staff or group positions, we disregard anybody who asks. If you feel you’re deserving of beta access to UKDT group projects, you need to make yourself shine. Create content and highlight it on the forums. We select people who we think are good enough based on content quality, efficiency, working with people, as well as knowledge and understanding of OMSI and its flaws.
We’ve noticed that many OMSI players are not your typical game modders. Many people aren’t as computer literate as your average gamer, often with some people not understanding that external dependencies are often required for third-party freeware maps.
We’re trying to streamline the installation process as much as possible. External dependencies have been reviewed for their ease of acquisition (as well as quality). For example, Freeman’s objects have been dropped, and we’re looking to have dependencies which are available from Fellowsfilm or AussieX only. As many dependencies as possible are being bundled with the map (at the expense of download size), in order to make installation as simple as possible. We’ll also create an installation guide (many people think that you just drop the .zip into an addons folder, for instance).
What’s Coming Up In The Next Few Weeks?
As I said previously, the target release date for Legacy Edition is very soon. Right now, the first draft of scenery is almost complete. After this, we’re going through and polishing, adding detail while testers analyse the map for their opinions.
Then, once the second draft is complete, the first test phase begins where issues with the scenery are scrutinized, as well as performance. While this is happening, pathing will be created to make the map functional. TTData will be generated which will give us routes and timetables.
Finally, after this, the final test phase will begin while another team packages the map, creates guides and readmes, and so on. Once all this is complete, every UKDT member and tester will give it one final clean run to test the installation process and be 100% sure nothing is missing.
At the same time, the web team will ensure that Fellowsfilm is ready and waiting for the map, and plans will be enacted to ensure minimal server impact so you’re not stuck in a massive download queue with slow speeds.
Finally, I would like to thank each one of you for your valued support over the last year. Your support for both Cotterell and BotW is invaluable, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Creating good-quality maps is a very time-consuming thing to do, and we appreciate that you’re all eager to get another decent left-path map.
Rest assured that we are working as quickly as possible, but given that it is our pet project, are not willing to compromise on quality. We want to push the bar up a little with each project we do.

Great write up iomex, some real exciting news in that one - I'm personally looking forward to seeing the all the results of the teams hard work
it will be nice to have it bundled together as sometimes the dependences are all over the place.
I'm having problems installing the map, im missing 73 objects and 5 splines. I've reinstalled it so many times, and it still doesnt doesn't work..... Can anyone help? :-(

Haha it's ok. As with most freeware maps, there are external dependencies needed for the map. I recommend getting OMSI map tools - if you have issues with a freeware map in future, run maptools, and it'll give you a readout of anything you're missing.
Having some issues with road markings and traffic lights on BoTW v2.7.1
I am new to this forum. I must say first off, the site is very well designed, and there is so much high quality content everywhere. Many thanks to the creators of this forum, it is so successful. Requiring a sign-up for downloads is well justified.
I have downloaded BoTW v2.7.1, and have installed every required addon I could find in the ReadMe file, and the forum post. I also used OMSI Map Tools 3.1 to check for anything missing, of which there were none. Now, I am sure I installed the latest version of Road-Hog123's British Road Detailing pack.
However, I see this issue (click), on every road. I am not sure at all how to fix it! I would appreciate if someone could kindly help me. I am happy to do anything.

It looks like you've installed the new version fine, but then overwritten it with an old version again (quite possibly bundled with a map), which causes all sorts of strange things to happen. Reinstalling the new version should put the files back how they should be and make it work properly again.
