This product is now released and can be discussed at Other - [Official DLC] OMSI London

* Updated 9th December 2017.*
In order to ensure the London WIP thread is solely focused on the Work in Progress developments of London. It's been decided that it will be best to create a new thread for any questions that you may have regarding the features to be included in the add-on.

Prior to asking your questions, please ensure that this has not already been showcased in the WIP topic. Please also ensure that you READ this thread before commenting

Please Note: This thread is not the place to ask for the add-on's release date as I will disclose that once it's time to make it publicly known.

FAQ:
What buses are included in the DLC package?
- B5LH/Gemini 3
  • Citybus 200
  • Citybus 400
  • New Routemaster

What routes are included in the DLC package? (updated)

Do the buses come with an onboard iBus system?
Yes, it's currently being re-scripted to allow it to have a few more functions. These functions will be disclosed at a later date as it's not our top priority.

Can I become a beta tester for one of the vehicles/map?
No, we are not looking for any beta testers. We appreciate many of you are excited, but we also do expect many of you to respect our decision. All testers were selected by myself and my development team. This was done on a basis of people who are in the community who we can already trust, and not done on the basis of requests.

How much will add-on London cost?
Add-On London is currently expected to be priced at £24.99/27.95 Euros for the download version dependent on where you live, and £28-£30 for the boxed version depending on which site you purchase the add-on from.

Are there any plans for future vehicles post-London release?
Yes, there are plans for a number of vehicles which will be confirmed once development has started on those. The only confirmed vehicle is the Enviro400City, as discussed above.

Will the buses use the same rollband system as the current freeware London B9TL?
Road-hog123 has spent excessive time working on a brand new rollband script to replicate the Mckenna Brother's Powerblinds unit. All buses included in the add-on will feature its own unique powerblind set and does not replicate the example seen in the Volvo B9TL by AD156

Mobitec.
I have not yet come across a bus in which the destination has to be set using the Omsi dialogue box.
Yeah that menu is intended to be used only if the users doesn't know how to set them inside the bus or if the functioning isn't scripted in the bus.
Oh well, you learn something new every day. I always use the dialogue box. Shows how little I know about OMSI lol. In that case ,would someone care to explain to me how to use it, for example in the freeware Volvo Gemini 2. I've had a play about with it before, but just don't get how to use it...

The Mobitec:

Basically, when turned on, a three digit number will appear in the corner. It starts at 000. this is the route number. You need to change this to the route number you wish to drive on (the upper box on the Dialouge Menu). E.G Route 3 = 003, Route 159 = 159. To do this, you plus or minus numbers from the total using the black squares labelled above. These either up the digits show, or lower the digits show.

After this, you hit the blue button. This switches between the route number, and the trip number. The trip number is where each possible destination for that route is assigned a number (the lower box on the Dialouge Menu). You do this in exactly the same way as before.

I am sorry its a poor explanation but its the best that I can do for you :tongueout:

Ok thanks a lot @Kieron . It appears that the operation of the Mobitec in the game is not the same as real life. I saw a bus driver use a real one today and the black up/down buttons on the right, actually scrolled thought the list of destinations which appeared on the screen as he was scrolling, and the next row to the left along, also black up/down buttons scrolled thorough the possible route numbers. And the blue button set what was on the screen. So it is not the same, as the buttons in OMSI up/down the numbers, instead of scrolling through the route numbers and destinations. Do you think it will be realistic for the addon? I don't see why it can't because in the iBus unit currently there is a page that gives a list of routes and these can be set by simply pressing on each one. So the technology is already there, we just need this to be transferred to the Mobitec.

The way it is used in London is what I described. The Ibus only controls the on board announcements. So by using the way you suggested you are taking it from being perfectly realistic to a personal choice.

When I said that ''there is a page that gives a list of routes and these can be set by simply pressing on each one'', I meant the iBus in OMSI, not real life. In real life, that page of the iBus is for curtailments, and not setting the destination display. What I was trying to say was why can't we just scroll through a list of route numbers and destinations on the OMSI Mobitec instead of the unrealistic page in the iBus? I have no idea why that page is in the iBus as it is not correct, because that page in real life is for cutailments. See below the annotation outlining the button I'm talking about:
Untitled2.jpg

So what I am saying is, that page in the iBus (to set the destination display easily, without going through numbers manually) should not be in the iBus as it should be part of the Mobitec. On a real iBus, there is no way of setting the destination display (as this done by the Mobitec) (which has a database of route numbers and destinations which can be scrolled through and the driver simply presses the blue button when he gets to the one he wants. I've watched a driver do that. Surely, the use of that incorrect page in the iBus should be moved to the Mobitec.
I know this sounds really complicated, but I hope you get what I mean.

The annotations you have done on this diagram are correct for the OMSI iBus, but not the real life iBus. In real life, +1 and -1 scroll up or down the destination (not numbers), through a list, and the possible destiantions appear on the screen as you scroll. +10 and -10 do the same but for the route number. And the blue one sets it. I don't know any more as I've not read the official manual, but that's what I know does what. Hope this helps, and you understood me...

I get what you mean, but I don't think you quite understand. If you used the Mobitec to set the destination, as well as using the timetable selector to choose a trip, you should not have to touch the iBUS display unit for it to work.

Also, on note of the Mobitec, how I described is the exact way it functions on SmartBlinds. Seeing as the destinations are not in the same order as the SmartBlind is, the blue button has to be hit before anything happens. Just using the +/- does not scroll through the selectable destinations. For LED screens, you are correct, but London's Smartblinds, you are not.

Also, I seem to find some of these complaints, requests whatever you want to call them petty and unhelpful. I mean you have 20+ bus routes and miles worth of quite frankly the highest quality map I have ever seen and you are making a big deal over rear door warning sounds, angle of the iBus unit in a fictional bus, and a catch in 1 iBUS page. Its really not gonna make that much of a difference.

I have to agree with Kieron here, we're all lucky that a map like this is in development!

Also, on the newer mobitec such as the c400r one have arrow keys to select destination as Transdev have them here in Blazefield.

Hi there, I seem to be stuggling to find the B5LH Gemini 2 template. Is it possible someone could post it here or link me to the correct page? Thanks in advance!
Gemini 2 repaint template, please note, your repaints will most likely not be included in the London package :).

Also, please do not post your WIP repaints in the London thread, please post it in "What's On Your Workbench"

Hey guys, I'm not exactly knowledgable on buses at the moment, I've only recently started taking a proper interest - so bear with me. Anyway, I see at the start of the thread one of the included buses is the B5LH/Gemini 3. Now, if I search that on google images I get two different types of buses coming up regularly. I believe that this is the bus included with the add-on:
b460b48a3e8a20be3a6a7cf936d1c2cd.jpeg

However, this is other bus that pops up, which seems to go under the same name again:

I've read that they are both B5LH/Gemini 3s. However, what is the difference? I'm quite interested, especially as I take the bus in the second picture everyday. Thanks

The difference is..
-the first picture is a Mk2 Gemini 3 which received a facelift in 2015. It takes a number of features from the Streetdeck such as the stealth front and facelifted rear.
-the second picture is a Mk1 Gemini 3 which was the original Gemini 3 unveiled in 2013.

They use the exact same engine and have the exact same interior layout (apart from the mouldings around the cab area). There are also a few Streetdeck's running around with the older version of the body as seen in your second image.

Thanks Rhys. What exactly is a Streetdeck? Have you got an image of it?
