Buses Volvo Olympian 10.4m (1 Viewer)

I made a remark saying, that it never got put anywhere in the description that I can remember, about using the PageUp & PageDown keys to alter the destination.

The problem is, is that the scripting of the bus, uses the Ibis scripts to complete the number matrix, but had no attached strings to the rollblind box. Therefore, using the keyboard commands, or ALT-92 box, do not edit the rollblind box, despite that controlling the destination. This results in a loophole, in the scripting and so.....the PageUp & PageDown keys are the only way to control the destination. If you hit CRTL-Y and watch the Target whilst holding down PageUp, you will see the target changing accordingly. Hence, when you use the ALT-92 box, it does nothing to the destination, and only adds a number to the matrix.

I would also like to add, that responses like that, to people who are trying to help, will not get you very far. This will not make people want to try and help you and can also be taken offensively. Others may find you rude and disrespectful to people who are trying to solve your problems for you. Please remember, no one has to help you, and when someone responds like this, people will get a habit of ignoring you.

The last I will say in this matter,
People are only trying to help.

Kieron
Apologies, I interpreted this: 'Kinda is essential if you want passengers to know where they are going ;)' as sarcasm. I tried what you suggested, but neither has worked for me.

I'm having an issue with passengers alighting the Olympian, I only seem to be able to let a max of 5 or 6 passengers off before having to close the doors and wait for them to queue at the doors and let another 5/6 off and so on...

Is this just an issue for me or is it affecting others?

No, it is an issue for I'm sure everyone using it. The bus has a lot of issues that need to be worked on, but I'm not sure if anyone is willing to due to bigger projects happening now. I have also noticed an issue with rollerblinds where they don't load properly and leave a white blank while being rolled. It'd be nice to have a handle also which allows the rollerblind to be changed along with the sign window from the cab. There are a few regional inaccuracies that don't exist on the British version of the bus which would be nice to have changed and also bad texturing quality and cab props. It'd be nice to see this project picked up properly either by the op or someone else. I'm not fantastic at all this stuff but I can do a decent pit of texturing and would be willing to have a crack at it.

I'm afraid it isn't quite as simple as that. For you would need to contact Lowlander21 to be able to make any more improvements, other than update existing textures. For that matter, no one else can unless Josh likes them and trusts them enough to use the model. Really, what needs to be seen is a completely new, British model but I guess we will just have to wait ;)

hi i have a question on the Olympian i cannot get the blinds to work or pick any passengers up on Cotrell map or farthington map

Put the right HOF file for the map you want in the Volvo Olympian 10.4m folder. Then load up that map and press shift+Y twice until you see the 'Target: ...' bit come up in the red text. Then press F8 and then hold PageUp/PageDown until the destination you want is in the 'Target' section.
This will allow you to pick up passengers, but there will not be any blinds coming up on the front unless you have assigned and made them yourself.

I'm having problems with the destination. And its not the roll blinds.

My problem is that no numbers show up on the dot matrix using the '92' button. I can get passengers to board when I put the number and blinds up but the number does not physically show up. I got the 10.4m and 12m original Hong Kong ones too, but their numbers dont work either.

Help is appreciated.

I might just have fixed this problem. Either that or my driving is so bad that even bugs won't stop my passengers getting off my bus.
I have modified the "paths.cfg" in "OMSI 2\Vehicles\Volvo Olympian 10.4M\Model" by reference of the 12m version of the Volvo Olympian by GX7767 and my passengers now alight without walking back and forth. I have tested my fix on Farthington and Yorkshire and it seems to work without any problems.
I don't know how I can share the fix, either by tutorial or file upload, but I do have a fix for the passengers not alighting issue.

Ok, here's how I fixed the buggy passengers.

Navigate to "OMSI 2\Vehicles\Volvo Olympian 10.4M\Model" an open the file "paths.cfg".
Capture.PNG

Open the file with whatever program you wish, I use notepad but others like notepad ++ should work.
Next, you have to scroll to where it says "---- backdoor", default as downloaded, the values should look like this:
Captures2.PNG

You want to change these values to the following:
Capture3.PNG

Once done, save and reload OMSI 2, you should find that the passengers now alight without issue and without clipping through the seats an walls near the door.
Hope this helps, I don't know if it is easy to follow but here is how I did it.
